Telugu star and JSP President Pawan Kalyan, who contested from the Pithapuram Assembly constituency in AP and won, was present at the NDA meeting.
On Friday, the NDA gathered its newly elected MPs in the Parliament to claim leadership of the next central government. Telugu star and JSP President Pawan Kalyan, who contested from the Pithapuram Assembly constituency in AP and won, was also present. A clip from the meeting wherein PM Narendra Modi praises the actor-turned-politician is going viral on the internet. Talking about him, the PM said, “Yeh pawan nahi hai. Andhi hai.”
Pawan Kalyan, in his speech, said, “My heartfelt wishes on behalf of Jan Sena. I am fortunate and grateful for giving this opportunity to be here. Starting 2014, in the the same place. As honourable Chandrababu Naida just said, ‘We want to see Modiji to rule this country for 15 years and it’s happening. Chandrababu ji, your prophecy came true. Modi ji, you truly inspire the nation. As long as you are the Prime Minsiter of this country, our country will never bow down to anyone.”

In 2008, Pawan Kalyan entered politics by leading the youth wing of the Praja Rajyam Party, known as Yuvarajyam. However, due to health issues, he paused his political activities. He returned in 2014, founding the Jana Sena Party (JSP).
This time, he formed alliances with the BJP and Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP for the Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections. In the seat-sharing agreement among NDA partners, TDP received 144 Assembly and 17 Lok Sabha seats, while BJP contested six Lok Sabha and 10 Assembly seats. Jana Sena contested two Lok Sabha and 21 Assembly seats under this pre-poll alliance.
Pawan Kalyan, 55, is a renowned Telugu actor and politician in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The actor, who is the brother of Telugu stars Chiranjeevi and Nagendra Babu, is known for his martial arts and starred in several films, including Gokulamlo Seeta (1997), Suswagatham (1998), Thammudu (1999), Kushi (2001), Balu (2005), Jalsa (2008), Gabbar Singh (2012), Attarintiki Daredi (2013), Gopala Gopala (2015), and Vakeel Saab (2021), to name a few.
