Raveena Tandon penned a strong note about increasing violence against women and children post Kangana Ranaut’s slap incident.

Raveena Tandon addressed the increasing violence against women and children and why it is imperative to stand united against hooliganism.

On Thursday, actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut was reportedly slapped by a CISF personnel at Chandigarh airport. Following the incident, Ranaut released a statement assuring her safety. Raveena Tandon, who recently got a clean chit in a road rage incident penned a strong note, condemning ‘violence against women.’

Today, on June 7, Raveena Tandon posted a long message on her Instagram stories addressing the increasing violence against women and children. She wrote, “In a world where public scrutiny is relentless, it is essential to remember that women achievers are human too. Disparaging them solely for their fame is unfair and harmful.”

She continued, “This increasing violence against women and children worldwide needs to be addressed urgently. It’s time we stand united against violence and hooliganism.”

The CISF constable involved was identified as Kulwinder Kaur. According to the Hindustan Times, following the incident, she was detained and subsequently suspended after Kangana Ranaut filed a complaint with CISF officials upon her arrival at Indira Gandhi airport.

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut took to her Instagram Stories to criticize the industry’s silence on the incident. She wrote, “All eyes on Rafah Gang this can happen to you or your children as well…When you celebrate a terror attack on someone be ready for the day it comes back to you as well.”

In her statement, Kangana had assured everyone that she is safe and fine as she also questioned “terrorism” in Punjab, “Namastey dosto! I have been getting a lot of phone calls from the media and my well-wishers. I am safe, I am perfectly fine. What happened at the Chandigarh airport today was during the security check. When I left after the security check, the CISF personnel hit me on my face. She abused me. When I asked her why she did it, she told me that she supports farmers’ protests. I am safe but my concern is, how do we handle terror in Punjab?” she said.

Kangana, running as a BJP candidate, recently won the Lok Sabha seat from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi. She triumphed over Congress’ seasoned politician, Vikramaditya Singh, by a margin of over 74,000 votes.
